“☀️ Hot weather is forecast across Birmingham, with temperatures expected to exceed 30°C. Residents are encouraged to check on vulnerable family members, friends and neighbours, ensuring they remain safe and well. Please make sure they have access to plenty of water 💧, appropriate light clothing 👕 and a cool place to rest 🏠. A simple call or visit can make a significant difference during periods of extreme heat. Let us all continue to look out for one another and stay safe.”

Communities across the West Midlands are set to benefit from a major £1.4 million investment aimed at tackling crime, disorder, anti-social behaviour and re-offending.

The funding, allocated by Police and Crime Commissioner Simon Foster, will support 66 projects delivered through Community Safety Partnerships (CSPs) spanning all seven policing areas: Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall and Wolverhampton.

This fresh injection of cash underlines the Commissioner’s continued commitment to prevention, early intervention and partnership working – ensuring resources are directed where they are most needed to keep communities safe and secure.

📢 Chestnuts Estate Update

I’ve raised your concerns about antisocial behaviour and scrambler/“cord” bikes with the police. A joint visit with police and BCC housing has already taken place, with further action planned.

We’re now arranging a meeting to push for a stronger, coordinated response.

Please keep reporting incidents:

• 🚨 Emergency: 999

• 📞 Non-emergency: 101

• 💻 https://www.west-midlands.police.uk/ro/report/asb/asb/anti-social-behaviour/

• 🏡 https://www.birmingham.gov.uk/info/20018/housing

• 📝 https://crimestoppers-uk.org/

Your reports make a difference — I’ll keep you updated.

People across England may be getting used to what can and cannot be thrown away in food waste bins as millions of households get to grips with major changes to how rubbish is handled nationwide. Failing to follow the new rules could lead to fines 😬

📢 GARRETTS GREEN LANE – WORKS UPDATE

I wanted to keep residents informed about an important update to the planned resurfacing works on Garretts Green Lane.

⚠️ What’s Changed?

The resurfacing dates have been rearranged due to other planned works by Severn Trent connected to a nearby industrial development. This is to prevent the road being resurfaced and then dug up again shortly after.

🗓 New Work Dates

✅ 10th June – 21st June

👍 Why This Matters

While I appreciate this delay is frustrating, it will ensure:

• A better-quality resurfacing job

• Less disruption in the long term

• No need for repeat works shortly after completion

🗣 Have Your Say

If you have any concerns or questions about these works, please feel free to contact me directly. I’m here to help.

🙏 Thank You

Thank you all for your patience and understanding while these essential improvements are carried out.
