Last week I met with businesses on the Milngavie High Street to discuss the impacts of rising business rates, National Insurance and rising supplier costs. Local businesses are vital to our high streets.

I will continue to press the Government to implement the Liberal Democrats' 5% VAT cut for hospitality, accommodation and attractions to support local businesses.

When patients are being treated in corridors, it is a clear sign that the system is under intolerable pressure.

The failure to fix social care means our hospitals are full of people who are ready to leave, while A&E waiting rooms are full of people waiting to be seen.

LENZIE GREEN SPACES

I have organised a public meeting in the New Hall at Lenzie Union Church to discuss unmaintained green spaces in Lenzie, particularly the areas around Lindsaybeg Road and Laxton Drive.

The meeting will take place on Monday 24th August at 6.30pm, all are welcome!

Since before I was elected to Council I have been asking for this paint to be refreshed.

It's a school crossing on a busy road and important for the safety of children and parents of Bearsden Primary.

I am happy to say that East Dunbartonshire Council have listened and re-painted the red crossing of the road.

On to the next thing now!
