At 2.35am this morning, six fire engines and an aerial ladder platform from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a commercial building fire on Darwen Street, Blackburn.

The fire is affecting the first floor and roof space of a two-storey commercial property. Firefighters are using breathing apparatus and hose reel jets to tackle the fire.

Crews remain in attendance and the incident is ongoing.

Road closures are in place on Mill Lane, St Peter’s Street, and Darwen Street at Dandy Walk. These are expected to remain in place into the morning.

Please avoid the area where possible and allow extra time for your journey.
