We have worked with the Leasehold Advisory Service (LEASE) to create free online training for thousands of volunteer directors of resident-managed high-rises across England.

“Introduction to the Building Safety Act 2022 for Resident Directors" fills a critical knowledge gap, helping directors understand and navigate their significant legal duties under the Act.

This accessible course provides practical knowledge on:

- Getting ready for the building safety regime (including the golden thread)
- Managing building safety risks and the Safety Case Report
- Resident Engagement Strategies, Mandatory Occurrence Reporting and Compliance.

By completing the course, resident directors can be better equipped to assess the quality of professional advice or services and build confidence in managing compliance to protect their buildings and residents.

📣 Update: BSR gateway 2 approvals rise to 75%, with 9,499 housing units approved in last 12 weeks

The Building Safety Regulator’s latest building control gateway 2 update shows an increase in approval rates across all categories of applications, including existing building safety projects, following its introduction of an external remediation plan in April.

For new builds, the now established Innovation Unit saw a 90% approval rate during this 12-week rolling period, with decisions overtaking the number of new cases received during the last 12 weeks.
