Join a clinical study that aims to move research – and people – forward

• Are you 18 years or older living with obesity or overweight?
• Do you also have Type 2 diabetes?

If the above relates to you, you may be able to join the KaiNETIC-2 Study. The KaiNETIC-2 Study is looking to learn more about different doses of an investigational study drug designed to help people with Type 2 diabetes lose weight, lower blood sugar levels, and improve their health.

Different doses of the study drug will be compared with a placebo. Both are together referred to as ‘study medication’. A placebo looks like the study drug but contains no active medicine. Participants will have a higher chance of receiving the study drug. The study medication will be given as a subcutaneous injection, that is under the skin. You will take it once every week. The study will last up to 84 weeks. There will be no cost for the study medication, or study-related health assessments and medical tests.

Want to get involved? Email [email protected] 📧 or call 0300 019 6686 📱

An Ethics Committee (EC) has reviewed this study. An EC protects the rights, safety, and wellbeing of study participants.

Congratulations to Fran Payne on receiving a Royal British Legion Long Service Award in recognition of more than 20 years of dedicated fundraising for the annual Poppy Appeal. Presented by our Chief Executive, Siobhan Harrington, and Rob Hornby from our UHD Armed Forces Network, this award is a tribute to Fran’s incredible commitment. 👏

Having also working at the NHS for more than 50 years in Endoscopy and Health Records, we would like to say a huge thank you to Fran for her contribution over the years. 💙

Getting a patient to the most suitable hospital to meet their care needs is the most important factor in an emergency situation. In this clip from a talk on 'Caring for you in an Emergency - From 999 call to the Emergency Department - what happens on your care journey?', Dave Sale - Clinical Team Manager at South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust talks about how hospitals have moved on, with different sites specialising in certain areas of care, with patients who meet criteria being taken directly to those hospitals.

Proud to see Team UHD representing the NHS at this year's Pride parade! 🌈💙

Standing together in support of our LGBTQ+ colleagues, patients and communities, we celebrated inclusion, compassion and the power of being your authentic self. Thank you to everyone who marched, cheered and helped make the day so special.

Together, we're building a healthcare community where everyone feels seen, valued and welcome.

Huge thanks to our Estates colleagues who have been running around fixing issues across our hospitals and building extra fans for our warmest clinical areas. We couldn’t do it without you!

There are things you can do to keep yourself cool during the hot weather 👇

- Bring water with you if you are visiting our hospitals
- Avoid physical exertion during the hot weather. If you can’t avoid strenuous outdoor activity, try to do it during cooler time of the day such as the early morning or the evening
- Keep your home cool by closing windows and curtains in rooms that face the sun
