Candidates are now confirmed for Muscliff & Moordown.

I’m standing as an Independent candidate, offering a principled, common-sense, centre-right voice for our community.

I know many residents want strong local representation, sound judgement, and practical action focused on the area. That is what I am offering.

If you live in Muscliff & Moordown, or have friends and family here, I’d be grateful for your support and for you encouraging others to vote.

Heads up: several well-used roads across BCP will be closed at times next week for asphalt preservation works.

Closures:
• Herbert Avenue — 8–10 April, 9:30am–4pm
• A341 Magna Road & Queen Anne Drive — 11–12 April, 8am–6pm
• B3369 Sandbanks Road (Park Road to Pottery Road) — 17 April, 9:30am–4pm

Key details:
Herbert Avenue will close from the A3040 Alder Road end towards Ringwood Road.
Rossmore Leisure Centre stays open throughout. On 8 April and the morning of 9 April, please approach from Ringwood Road. After that, access will be via Alder Road.

On Magna Road / Queen Anne Drive, works will begin at the Bere Cross roundabout and move west. As sections are completed, they will reopen behind the works team. Access to local businesses will be maintained throughout.

For local businesses:
• Saturday 11 April — approach from A349 Gravel Hill / A341 Queen Anne Drive
• Sunday 12 April — approach from Bere Cross roundabout / Bearwood

Sandbanks Road works are being carried out after the Easter holidays to help reduce disruption for beach visitors.

Kieron, Lisa and I will be showing the Chief Exec around the area next week, starting in Townsend, to discuss the road safety and other local matters.

I’ll be raising a number of issues with him directly, so if there are any practical area-related concerns you’d like me to get across, or any locations you think he should see for himself, please comment below.

I’d really like to keep this constructive - my aim is to get things done, get him on board, and secure support for the improvements we need.

Road safety outside Jewell and Epiphany are key priorities for me, as are our parks, and these are already firmly in hand.

Update on the parks:

Landford Way – new play area – £200,000

The latest delivery schedule suggests work linked to Muscliff Park and Noyce Gardens will move through design, procurement and installation shortly, while Landford Way is still marked “coming soon” and needs further consultation.

I am aware of the very concerning case reported by the echo today and understand the distress it is causing locally.

The safety and wellbeing of children must always come first. I have contacted the relevant housing and safeguarding teams to ensure concerns raised by residents are urgently reviewed through proper safeguarding procedures.

I would urge residents not to speculate or take matters into their own hands. If anyone has safeguarding concerns, please contact Dorset Police or BCP Council’s safeguarding team directly.
