Our Bookstart Bear has done some excellent reading this summer and has managed to complete the Summer Reading Challenge, earning that well-deserved medal and certificate!

There is still time to sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge; simply visit your local library to take part.
Children aged 4 to 12 can sign up at any library across the district for our free summer challenge. As you can see with Bookstart Bear, as you complete goals of the challenge, you can get rewards, including an exclusive Storytime magazine, a pop badge, stickers with QR codes to access digital rewards at home too, and - after completing the challenge - a certificate and medal (subject to availability).
The challenge encourages children to keep reading over the summer holidays, building confidence and a lifelong love of reading. Children can read anything they enjoy and set their own reading goals.
This year’s theme celebrates rhythm, music and storytelling, with a range of fun, free activities taking place in libraries across the district. From lively workshops to creative sessions, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!
