We’ve seen a recent Facebook post regarding the current condition of the Mill Pond and wanted to provide a brief update to the community.

Firstly, thank you for your interest in the Mill Pond. We understand why local residents are concerned and appreciate the engagement.

At present, the Mill Pond is not owned by the Parish Council or any other clearly identified organisation. Some neighbouring properties are taking legal advice and working with the PC to confirm and hopefully re- establish ownership and responsibility for the site.

We want to reassure residents that the situation is being monitored and discussions are ongoing. As matters are still being resolved, we kindly ask that people avoid speculation or sharing unconfirmed information on social media, as this can lead to confusion.

Any confirmed updates will be shared through Council meeting minutes and our newsletters, both available on our website.

If you have any questions in the meantime, please feel free to contact Councillor Lucy Phipps at [email protected]

Thank you for your understanding and continued interest in our local community.

Kind regards,

Pannal and Burn Bridge Parish Council

This image is a little reminder of how quickly a wildfire can change our local landscape. The damage can last for many years, affecting wildlife, habitats and the places we all enjoy walking and exploring.

With the warm, dry weather, it's more important than ever that we all take a little extra care:
🔥 Please don't light BBQs or campfires on open land. 🚭 Make sure ci******es are fully extinguished.
🗑️ Take your litter home, especially glass bottles as these can start fires.
📞 If you spot a fire, call 999 immediately.

By making a few small changes, we can all help keep our countryside safe.

Together, let's not spark disaster!
