BALLOON BOARS🎈🐗

This weekend a few of our Off Cdts had the pleasure of representing the squadron on home turf, at the famous Balloon Fiesta at Ashton Court Estate, Bristol.

The students objective was outreach, speaking to the public about the UAS and Armed Forces whilst manning the static Chinook display stand.

They themselves also had some successful networking - getting to talk to the epic RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team display pilots, the balloon pilots, as well as crew from A400s, C17s and a Chinook and personnel from other civilian emergency services.

Off Cdt Rai said: “Over the 3 days, it was really rewarding to speak to the visitors and answer their questions about the RAF”.

UoB and UWE balloons were spotted launching, but unfortunately no sight of Bath, Exeter and Plymouth…!

FIRST SOLO!

Congratulations to OCdt Rignall on completing his first solo flight!

Whilst everyone else was making the most of the final few days of Summer Camp, OCdt Rignall had a slightly better excuse for disappearing...taking to the skies on his first solo.

A fantastic achievement and a testament to all the hard work and dedication he’s put in.

FIRST SOLO!!

Another BUAS solo! Massive congratulations to OCdt Edwards on going solo in the Tutor - a fantastic achievement and the result of hours of hard work, persistence and commitment to the flying syllabus. He’s certainly clocked up plenty of miles on the road and in the air to get here.

An impressive achievement and another 75 cse student to go solo, marking a brilliant milestone in his flying training and another great result for the squadron.

Well done again, OCdt Edwards!

PRESIDENTS CUP

Over May, BUAS students attended an RAF athletics training camp at RAF Cosford, the home of RAF sport.

With access to a wide range of sporting facilities, students learned from international athletes and coaches.
Finally, students competed in the President’s Cup, an inter-station track-and-field competition.

With strong performances in the 800m and 3000m students embraced the opportunity to compete with a wide range of athletes.
