🌳 THE END OF A CHAPTER… BUT NOT THE END OF AT PLAY IN THE WOODS 🌳
This is a post I really hoped I wouldn't have to write.
Sadly, next year At Play in the Woods will be saying goodbye to the woodland that we have called home for so many years. 💚
This little patch of woodland has seen thousands of muddy boots, campfires, dens, birthday cakes, marshmallows, adventures, laughter and memories.
Children have climbed its trees, splashed through its mud, built dens, made fires, hunted for treasure and been given the freedom to simply play.
For some children, it's been the place they celebrated their birthday.
For others, it's been somewhere they could learn, grow in confidence, take risks, make friends or simply have somewhere they felt comfortable being themselves.
And for me, it's been a huge part of At Play in the Woods and my life.
So 2026 will sadly be our final year of birthday parties in our current woodland. 🥳🌲
** If you've ever thought about booking one of our woodland birthday parties, this really is your last opportunity to experience a party in these woods.
But I want to make something very clear…
AT PLAY IN THE WOODS IS NOT FINISHED. ❤️
I'm already looking towards the future.
I currently have three possible new locations in mind and I'll shortly be starting conversations to see whether one of them could become the next home for At Play in the Woods.
I don't know exactly what the next chapter looks like yet.
It might look different.
It might take a little time.
But after all these years, I'm certainly not ready to hang up my muddy boots just yet. 🌳🥾
For now, we're going to make the most of every moment we have left in our woodland and give it the send-off it deserves.
So if you, your children or your family have memories of At Play in the Woods, I'd genuinely love you to share them below.
Photos, stories, funny moments, muddy children, birthday memories — please put them in the comments.
I'd love this post to become a little collection of everything these woods have meant to people over the years. 💚
And who knows…
Maybe sometime soon I'll be writing another post:
“We've found our new woods.” 🌳❤️
If you have any ideas or even a woodland please get in contact.
