Work to carry out “essential” resurfacing on the A470 just outside Builth Wells will require a “full carriageway closure” for seven nights in early September.
The work will be carried out over 7 nights (from) 7pm-7am under a full carriageway closure. The signed diversion will be on trunk roads.
The A470 along Hay Road leading out of Builth towards Erwood will be closed from 7pm to 7am each night from Monday, September 7, to Monday, September 14.
Traffic Wales says the work will be concentrated on a section of the highway known as the Ty Gwyn bends, with a lengthy diversion in place
Motorists who would need to travel the entirety of the diversion face a 67-mile journey, which would take approximately 1 hour 45 minutes.
"Work to carry out essential carriageway resurfacing to a section of the A470 at Ty Gwyn, east of Builth Wells, will commence on September 7, for 7 nights,” said Traffic Wales.
"The works are being carried out overnight when traffic flows are lower to minimise disruption."
“For southbound traffic: from the northern closure point at Builth Wells, travel southwest on the A483 to Llandovery then east on the A40 to Brecon, then north on the A470 towards Builth Wells to the southern extent of the closure. The route is reversed for northbound traffic.”
