White Watch visited Camborne Youth Hub this evening. They had a good look around the pump, got hands on with the equipment we carry and we shared with them important fire safety advice regarding smoke alarms.

As draws to a close, a gentle reminder of this year’s campaign message 'take no chances' from Red watch.🚒

Make sure your gas appliances are checked regularly and always use a Gas Safe registered engineer. Ask to see their Gas Safe ID card before they start work, and never try to do gas work yourself.

Make sure you have a working carbon monoxide alarm, and if you think you have a gas leak, turn off the gas supply if it’s safe to do so, get outside and call the National Gas Emergency Service immediately on 0800 111 999.

🥳 THEY’VE ONLY GONE AND WON SOMETHING 🥳

Amazing from the CFRS Extrication team, coming away with 1ST PLACE in the heavy rescue challenge 👏👏

This saw the team face a challenging scenario where they worked alongside the Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service’s Extrication Team to enact a lift on a heavy good vehicle as one team. 🚛

Going against 10 other teams (20 different services in total) and coming away with this result is amazing.

Well done to both teams and certainly to our very own firefighter - Calum Couch 🙌🏽

Now to bring the knowledge and skills you’ve picked up back to the rest of the crew to improve our professional rescue skills 💪

This will see these firefighters compete against multiple other fire and rescue services across the country in extrication and trauma. 🤕

Realist scenarios will be presented to the crew who will use their expertise and skills to deal with the incident and enact a rescue. 💪

The competition will span across Friday the 11th and Saturday the 12th of September with the opening ceremony commencing tonight. 🎉

Good luck to all competing, show them how good Cornwall can be and make us proud. 💛🖤💛
