🌟 Thank You, D.G. Moore Cleaning Services 🌟

A huge thank you to D.G. Moore Cleaning Services for their rapid response and for working with our Clerk outside normal hours once again going above and beyond for the community.

D.G. steam‑cleaned and sanitised two pieces of equipment at The Village Green Play Area, helping us keep the space clean, safe and welcoming for local children and families.

We’re grateful for the speed, flexibility and professionalism shown. It’s fantastic to have local businesses willing to go the extra mile for Histon & Impington.

👏 Thank you for your support and for helping us keep our play areas at their best.

The Parish Council is delighted to announce that two new metal benches have been installed today around the two oak trees on Manor Field, replacing the broken ones that were removed earlier in the year. The bespoke back panels have been designed by the company that made the benches, David Ogilivie Engineering, and reflect the location of the benches near the community orchard and the fact that they surround two oak trees.

The designs were suggested and then agreed upon by Dan Mace of the Histon and Impington Community Orchard Group, and the Nature and Biodiveristy Committee, and the funding for the project was agreed by the Parish Council using some of the Section 106 Public Art funds we hold. Thanks go to the contractor, SJ Pollard and the Head Parish Ranger who worked hard to get them installed today.

We would be delighted to hear from anyone with any more ideas for public art projects in the villages, if you have any ideas, please email [email protected] and we will compile them all to present to Council. Please provide as much information as possible so we can consider the projects, and we would love to have residents helping us with these projects going forward.

📢 Wellbeing, Recreation and Leisure Committee Tonight 📢

What is on the agenda for Histon & Impington Parish Council’s Wellbeing, Recreation & Leisure Committee? The Wellbeing, Recreation & Leisure Committee is meeting tonight, and we’d love for you to be involved!

Here is a quick look at what your local councillors will be discussing and deciding on tonight:

🔹 South Road Play Area Upgrades: Big plans ahead! The committee will be voting on starting resident consultations and working with a professional landscape designer to breathe new life into the South Road Play Area.

🔹 Supporting Local Sports: We are looking to co-opt representatives from major sporting clubs and gather key feedback. We'll also be discussing sports club membership data and travel methods to better support our local teams.

🔹 Community & Youth Updates: Catching up on the latest updates from both the Recreation Development Group and the Youth Provision Group.

🔹 Committee Restructure: Discussing a potential trial meeting as a Working Group to see how we can work even more efficiently for the community.

👥 Your Voice Matters! Every meeting kicks off with a 15-minute Public Participation session. If you have questions, ideas, or feedback regarding our recreation spaces, come along and share them!

Thanks to everyone enjoying Histon & Impington Centenary Celebrations at our Recreation Ground this afternoon.

Histon & Impington Parish Council has had some great feedback from many of you please do visit our Stall, Number 27 positioned near Histon Football Club this afternoon.

Histon and Impington Parish Council – Stall 27 at the Feast Market

We are pleased to be part of the Centenary Festival Fun Day on the Recreation Ground. Today marks one hundred years of shared community use and it is good to see so many local groups taking part.

You will find us at Stall 27. Parish Council members and staff will be there this afternoon to chat with you, answer questions and hear what matters to you about the Recreation Ground and other local projects.

Thank you to Histon and Impington Feast, HI Friends, Histon Beer Festival and everyone involved for bringing the centenary celebrations together. It is a significant effort and it shows the strength of community life in the villages.

We also want to thank Parish Council staff for their work to make the Recreation Ground available and ready for today. Their preparation supports the event and helps ensure the space continues to serve residents well.

We look forward to seeing you on the Rec this afternoon.

NOTICE is hereby given that Histon & Impington Parish Council has four vacancies to be filled by co-option.

The Parish Council hopes to fill these vacancies by co-option at the next meeting on Monday 20th July 2026. If you wish to apply for this position, please write or email (details below) by noon on Friday 10th July 2026 with your brief reasons for wishing to stand.

Full Council meetings are held the third Monday monthly and there are other Committees and Working Parties you can join if you wish.
