Available in the 22 Local Authorities in Wales, Pass Plus Cymru is designed to help you become a better driver, and possibly save money. You’ve probably heard about Pass Plus, the Driving Standard Agency’s course of six lessons which helps provide valuable additional driving experience and teaches you how to deal with a wide range of road and traffic situations that you may not have encountered wh
ilst learning. Pass Plus has proved effective in building on existing skills and knowledge, reducing the risk of being in a road crash and saving money on car insurance. Pass Plus Cymru has been developed to offer a lot more than the basic Pass Plus scheme. An interactive group discussion forum, at a venue near you. You will be one in a group of up to 20 young drivers. The interactive session covers mobile phones, drink/drug driving, inappropriate speed and seatbelt wearing as well as looking at driving attitude. On-the-road training
Following the workshop, participants will be appropriately paired. Each pair will go on to spend a whole day, or two half-day sessions, taking turns with an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) carrying out on-road driver training. This is done as soon as possible after workshop. The on road training will cover the Pass Plus modules as well as dealing with other situations as they occur. You will be treated at all times as a fully qualified driver! Why should I do it? As well as reducing your road risk and helping you gain valuable experience and skills, on completion of the course each candidate will be issued with a Pass Plus Certificate. This will allow you to claim the benefits outlined under the Pass Plus Scheme. To join the course you must:

How much will it cost me? The cost of the whole course is £20, a massive discount from the normal cost of between £120 and £150 (Made possible by a special road safety grant from the Welsh Government)
