While Labour won the majority of the seats in Senedd Cymru, Mark Drakeford is currently not the First Minister of Wales.

Tomorrow the Senedd will convene for its first plenary, where they shall elect a Presiding Officer, a Deputy Presiding Officer and the First Minister.

**UPDATE** in some constituencies the ballot paper is Orange and not Purple.

Remeber there are three ballot papers today in the Welsh elections!

🟣 / 🟠 - Purple / orange for your constituency ballot, this uses the First Past the Post voting system which is used for Westminster (and recognised as not being very democratic)

⚪️ - White for your Senedd regions. In South Wales Labour cannot win on this ballot, so it is recommended to use your vote for an alternative progressive party instead. This ballot paper uses the AM voting system using the d’hont formula.

🟡 - Yellow for the Police and Crime commissioner elections, this is done using the Alternative Vote system, where you can vote for your first preference and second preference.

Remember if you don’t like any of the options you can also spoil your ballot, this is better than not turning up as spoilt ballots are counted!

277,221 Labour voters waster their regional vote in 2016 which helped UKIP to gain seats.

This time Abolish are the threat to democracy. If you are a Labour supporter in one of the three South Wales regions, use your list vote for a progressive alternative who can win instead.

In the three South Wales Regions Welsh Labour CANNOT win regional seats. A list vote for Labour is handing seats to the Tories and Abolish.

If you are a Labour supporter, then put party politics aside and vote for a progressive party who can win seats on the regional lists.

It’s Election Day!!! Don’t forget there are three ballot papers

The purple ballot is for your Senedd Consistency Representative, and uses the first past the post voting system (winner takes all)

The white is the Senedd regional ballot, which elects four representatives for your region using the d’hont formula (Labour can’t win on this ballot! A regional vote Labour is a vote for the Tories and Abolish).

The yellow ballot paper is for Police and Crime Commissioner, this is elected using the Alternative Vote system, where you get two votes, if your first preference isn’t going to win, your second preference gets your vote!

Polls are open till 2200 and votes will be counted tomorrow. Remember to wear a mask, sanitise your hands, and bring your own pen!

Just under a week before we head to the polling stations across Wales, this latest poll once again shows Labour votes in the South Wales regions assisting the Tories and far right Abolish in winning seats on the proportional system.

If you are a Labour voter, then it’s time to put party politics aside and use the regional ballot to vote for a party that can and will win seats.
