Yesterday was Day 1 β and wow, what a day! πββοΈβ¨
I was a little too tired to post last night after such a busy day, but I couldnβt let it pass without saying how proud I am of our swimmers.
For many of them, it was their first time seeing and competing at Millfield in a long course pool, and every one of them rose to the challenge.
The day started with the girls taking on the 200 IM, with some needing a time for the very first time. They came out smiling and saying, βI loved it!β π
The racing continued with 100m and 50m events across all strokes, and then the girls took on the 400m freestyle β wow! What an incredible effort from everyone.
Every swimmer arrived with their own personal goals, and they absolutely smashed them. Whether it was achieving a PB, gaining valuable race experience, trying a new event, or simply stepping out of their comfort zone, they all had something to celebrate.
What made me just as proud was the team spirit. From card games between races to cheering each other on from poolside, the support, encouragement and friendships on display were brilliant to see.
As we head into Day 2 today, weβre looking forward to more racing, more memories, and hopefully a few more goals achieved. Good luck, Team Kingfishers β youβve already made us proud! ππββοΈπββοΈ
