We are recruiting for a Human Resources Officer to join a successful and ambitious education organisation in Basildon. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a supportive, hardworking team while enjoying the benefits of term-time working plus just two additional weeks per year.
You will provide professional HR support across the organisation, working closely with employees and management and helping to ensure HR processes are delivered accurately, confidentially and efficiently.

Performance-based annual salary increments available
41 working weeks per year – Term Time + 2 Weeks
Monday to Thursday, 8:00am–4:00pm
Friday, 8:00am–3:30pm
37 hours per week

Your responsibilities will include:
* Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records using the HR/MIS system
* Supporting employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances, performance management and probation
* Preparing and updating employee contracts and associated documentation
* Supporting the implementation of HR policies covering conduct, sickness, absence and recruitment
* Maintaining recruitment documentation including job descriptions, person specifications and standard forms
* Managing HR administration for starters and leavers
* Supporting the onboarding of new employees
* Ensuring recruitment and onboarding processes comply with Safer Recruitment requirements
* Providing professional HR support to employees and managers across the organisation
We are looking for someone who has:
CIPD Level 3 or a similar HR qualification
5 or more GCSEs (or equivalent), including Mathematics and English
Previous experience working within an HR function in a large organisation
Good knowledge of employment law
Experience using HR, MIS or similar information systems
Excellent IT skills, including spreadsheets
Strong organisational and administrative skills
The ability to prioritise effectively and work to changing deadlines
A professional and confident communication style when dealing with people at all levels
The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
Previous HR experience within education, schools or academies would be advantageous, although candidates with relevant HR experience from other large organisations are also encouraged to apply.
