Concrete Canvas 2026
Discover the best street art Chelmsford city centre has to offer on this charity walk.
Concrete Canvas walk will be taking place on Thursday 5 February 2026 which is also ‘Time to Talk’ day. This walk is all about bringing arts, cultural, health and mental wellbeing together.
This gentle walk will start at the Marconi Plaza, next to Chelmsford Theatre.
Our friendly walk leaders, Health Champions, Mental Health First Aiders and marshals will guide walkers to see the artwork all across the City centre. The walk is approximately 5km and we are collection for the Mayor’s chosen Charity, Chelmsford CVS. We are asking for a suggested donation of £5 per person.

For all event information including route map and how to register please go to www.chelmsford.gov.uk/concretecanvas or call 01245 606569

New Open Space and Affordable Community Housing for Broomfield People

We need to set up a group of volunteers to help with this exciting new project to create:
- 4 hectares of green open space with public access
- Up to 1.3 hectares of genuinely affordable housing for existing Broomfield people
Please get in touch if you’re interested in any aspect of the project - such as:
- affordable housing for the local community
- creating a new open green space
- biodiversity and wildlife mini-projects
- heritage and archaeology.

Please email [email protected]. In the New Year, we’ll hold a meeting for everyone who is interested in becoming involved and answer as many questions as we can. Please see full article in latest edition of Broomfield Times.
