Doggy Day Care Assistant Apprentice - Level 2 Animal Care & Welfare

Aged 16+ and want a career in the doggy daycare business?

We are Wirral’s largest doggy day care company and we are looking for one dog-mad person to join our growing team as part of our apprentice scheme!

🤗 We operate Wirral’s largest dog daycare business with two sites , where our dogs spend their days playing and socialising in either 6000sq ft or 6 acres (!) of indoor and outdoor space. We offer Day Care, Training, Birthday Parties, Events and so much more!

We are looking to take on a new Apprentice to add to our Day Care team at our Upton site.

🐕Your job will be looking after the dogs in the daycare, running activities and enrichment sessions, playing with them, keeping them entertained, providing love and cuddles, serving lunches and making sure they are happy! You would also be responsible for cleaning the facility and equipment amongst other duties.

📸 Bonus points if you are good on social media and can take photos and videos on your phone!

⭐️ The successful applicant must obviously love dogs, be physically fit, have excellent communication skills and be honest and trustworthy. You must be not afraid to get your hands dirty and get involved in everything that is required to care and look after the dogs as well as everything else.
A passion for animal care and determination to learn is what we look for! It is essential that you are comfortable dealing with a large group of excited and playful dogs! You must be able to think fast and remain calm in any situation to always ensure the safety of all the dogs. You will be required to study and attend a Canine First Aid and CPR course and undertake inhouse training. This is alongside your own studies!

💚Within the daycare, our staff to dog ratio is 1:10 and you will be part of a team working together each day. You should also be happy working in any weather as no matter how hard it rains or how cold it gets, our dogs have still got to be exercised and looked after throughout the day!

📅 We need you to work Tuesday – Thursday, 8am until 4pm but you may be asked to work Monday’s and Friday’s too.

💰 Apprenticeship minimum wage

Food banks are bracing for their busiest Winter yet.

Families who previously haven't needed support, are turning to food banks for the first time.

Food banks gave out 2.1 million food parcels to people facing hardship between April 2021 and March 2022.

830,000 of these were given to children. 😢

Our annual Charity dog walk is happening tomorrow, Sunday 24th December meeting at 9.45am (10am departure) at the Sandy Lane, Irby entrance to Royden Park. We are asking for donations to the Trussell Trust- a charity that supports food banks and campaigns for change.

Our walk is 1 hour (a bit under) mostly flat and beautiful.
I did it in 45 minutes this morning!
