Hotel stays are great, until you want more space than a room gives you. Space from other people, and a long view with nothing in the way.

Picture it: no lift, no corridor, no sound through the wall, just you, landscape stretching from your doorstep, total peace and quiet. That’s the bit no hotel room can give you.

We’ve been having a little look through our most recent Google reviews..

It’s always lovely to hear what you’ve got up to while you’ve been here. Long walks and the slow mornings, hours looking across the landscape from the copper bath, hearing about how comfortable the bed is.

But what fills us up is knowing we’ve created a place that meets its purpose: of adventure, restoration and renewal.

Fire Pit Sessions is a series we created around the fire pit at our cabins. We asked three chefs we love to spend the day cooking at our cabins on Exmoor.

To celebrate this final instalment, we are giving away a two-night stay for two at a Rest + Wild cabin of your choice, plus £600 of the Le Creuset cast iron BBQ collection.

For this edition we welcomed Nicholas Balfe, Great British Menu competitor and founder of Holm in South Petherton. He spent the day cooking over fire with the Le Creuset BBQ Outdoor Collection and showed us how to make a grilled sirloin with charred hispi cabbage, roasted potatoes and salsa verde.

The last of the summer days are giving way to colder mornings and we're not going to pretend we're sad about it.

Fire Pit Sessions x Le Creuset.

For the final instalment of our summer series, we welcomed Nicholas Balfe, Great British Menu competitor and founder of Holm in Somerset, to our cabins for the day. He showed us how to cook over fire, and the Le Creuset BBQ Outdoor Collection was on the fire pit throughout.
