๐ฅ The turnout showed just how strongly people feel about the proposed Fleet Lane development and the wider changes affecting Queensbury - Standing room only.
๐Huge thank you to Judy for organising the meeting
๐ฃ๏ธ Cllr Hazel Johnson and I spent time answering questions, explaining how the planning process works, and guiding residents on the key planning issues they can raise in their objwctions. These include sustainability and transport access, Green Belt and Grey Belt policy, cumulative development impacts, infrastructure pressures, and the effect on the character of the area.
๐ We also listened carefully to residentsโ concerns โ particularly about the loss of open countryside, pressure on roads and services, and the cumulative impact of multiple developments.
โ๏ธ It is important to understand that decisions are not based on the number of objections, but on planning policy and material considerations. Well-reasoned submissions that focus on relevant planning impacts carry real weight.
๐ฟ We recognise that the introduction of Grey Belt policy is causing uncertainty and concern. This policy does not mean automatic approval โ proposals must still pass strict tests on sustainability, impact on the Green Belt, infrastructure provision and community benefit.
๐ค The meeting was an important opportunity for residents to share views, and we will continue working to ensure those views are properly heard and considered.
๐ Thank you again to everyone who attended and contributed constructively.
๐ง There is still time to put in your objections/comments using the Bradford planning portal website and searching for 25/00842/MAF
