14 years of austerity and an idiotic Brexit have compromised our nation's health, skills and infrastructure (the three key pillars for sustainable growth - which will take at least a decade of renewal to turn around).

And now Badenoch acts as if none of it happened, and they didn't bequeath a legacy where public services had been hollowed out, and the national debt hadn't risen to 100% of GDP.

And then!!! a shed load of the Tories involved in the debacle of the 14 years jump ship to take up senior positions in Reform UK and are trying to convince the voting public that they represent change!!!?

Pretty much everything we struggle with now is the result of 14 years of Tory austerity and their damaging Brexit. The threats to cut welfare; the inadequacy of our public services; the lack of investment in defence; the likely tax increases... are all rooted in the failure of successive Tory governments.

Going back further, we are now paying a heavy cost for the Tory privatisation of key industries and services, which was driven by Thatcher.

The country is like that metaphorical oil tanker, but it will take years to turn it around.

(...and don't forget, failed Tories are now populating the senior positions in Reform UK.
