There is little that sparks my inner chatterbox more than the Environment.
At this moment in time, I'm working my way through a Masters Degree in Environmental Science, inspired by my obsessive love for nature and the soon to be Centenarian, Leicestershires diamond, Sir David Attenborough.
The reality behind these conversations is that we don't live in a world where we can metaphorically "just pull the plug" without it making life unrecognisable.
The ecomomy is not exactly in a strong place, and like a set of balancing scales, if we go too far one way, the economy falls like a 1990s game of see saw when someone (probably a sibling) jumped off the other end, leaving you crashing to the ground.
Balance is essential. A thought through tailored approach is critical.
Last week I attended a local screening of the Peopleβs Emergency Briefing in Hugglescote. It was a thoughtful and well-attended event, bringing together a range of perspectives on climate change, environmental pressures, and the potential long-term risks facing our country.
