The reality of this is that we live in a society which is so terribly punitive in nature.
Whereas a person in his position might have historically received a telling off, an internal investigation, and perhaps a story in the local newspaper….
Nowadays, the slightest error, poor judgment, or misdeed results in a tsunami of online vitriol, threats to person and family, national news hounding people…
The facts aren’t yet released but I think it’s fair to say this gentleman did NOT receive fair treatment. It was trial by media and trial by social media. To date, nobody has PROVEN he actually did anything wrong. Innocent until proven guilty.
Where were the “be kind” mob, where were the “BLM” mob.
The duty to fix this falls to the next generation of politicians following the next general election. The current lot aren’t capable of anything other than heaping more pressure on to people.
