Don't forget you have until 20th August to make your views known on the Bellway planning application for 150 homes in Boxted. That's nearly a 25% increase in homes, cars, sewage, delivery vans, school places in the village.
We have no frequent bus service, no doctors no dentist, and no shop, and a sewage system that is already struggling with no plans to upgrade.
A road capable of two way traffic but all other lanes are reduced width.
The site overlooks and can be seen from the Dedham Vale National Landscape which carries extra protections that are often ignored.

Boxted and the local area falls in an area identified as very high risk for wildfires. This warning is expected to be in place for many weeks as there is no sign of rain and wind speeds have picked up.

With large areas of arable/agricultural land any wildfire would spread quickly. Property, people, animals and wildlife would be at risk.

Please take the time to think about what you would/could do to minimise risk and react to any wildfire in the area

Advice from Essex Fire https://www.essex-fire.gov.uk/wildfire-safety-advice

Screen shots here for summary.

Wildfires are mostly started by human activity - either deliberate or accidental. On rare occasions, fires can be started by a lightning strike. Only 10-15% of wildfires happen on their own in nature.

Most are started by human actions such as:
campfires
barbecues
bonfires
discarded ci******es
fires spreading from vehicles or farm machinery
sunlight magnified by glass bottles sparking a fire
planned and controlled burning that gets out of control
arson.
It is often the weather conditions that determine how much a wildfire spreads. Strong winds, high temperatures or low rainfall can all leave trees, shrubs, fallen leaves and grass, dry and primed to fuel a fire.

Many wildfires are started deliberately or are due to careless, reckless, or irresponsible behaviour. If you see or suspect someone of acting suspiciously, recklessly, or irresponsibly in the countryside contact the Police on 101 or pass information anonymously to FireStoppers on 0800 169 5558

Always report anyone acting irresponsibly or carelessly with fire in the countryside.

Stay safe.
