Veterans Sing is a choir open to all veterans and their immediate family members living in Essex and Suffolk.

They meet alternate Fridays from 10am in the Garrison Church and perform at a range of events, including the Royal Gun Salute in Castle Park earlier this year.

Last night marked the first Mental Health and Comedy Night in Colchester, organised by Healthwatch Essex.

After three incredibly moving presentations and a Q&A session with the evening's guests, comedians Ben Norris and Tim Clarke treated the audience to a splash of comedy.

2nd Battalion The Parachute Regiment (2 PARA)’s medics have been trialling new technology to deliver blood to casualties on the battlefield.

Every paratrooper has had their blood type tested and their location on the battlefield is tracked on live digital mapping. If any casualty needs blood, a medic can take it from the nearest suitable donor, with a drone flying the blood to where it is needed.

Medics can then video call medical specialists thousands of miles away for advice on treating the wounded.

The medical innovations were recently tested in Canada on Exercise Rhino Bizz.
