Alan Robinson MLA met with Police yesterday along with representatives of the Limavady Glasgow Rangers Supporters Club to discuss the ongoing criminal damage and hate crimes being targeted at this facility.

The meeting afforded an opportunity for the PSNI to hear from the Club representatives.
The PSNI were also challenged on the lack of convictions for those responsible.
We want and expect the recent incidents to be fully investigated and those responsible identified and brought before the courts.

This Club harms no one. The owners and users of the facility want to live in peace free from attack and intimidation.
Condemnation is no longer enough. Those responsible must now face the consequences for their actions.

Alan Robinson MLA has thanked Trankslink for their assistance in installing a new bus shelter on Connell Street, Limavady.

The shelter installation which involved several years of lobbying will be welcomed by the local community as it enhances the public transport service provision in the area particularly for the children from right across East Londonderry who attend Limavady High School.

The project was delivered by Bauer Media Outdoor, who will also maintain and clean the high quality stainless steel and glass shelter.

Alan Robinson has welcomed the commitment from Translink to erect an additional school bus shelter at Connell Street, Limavady.

Mr Robinson said, ‘It may seem an insignificant addition however given that both I and the school have been pushing for several years for additional bus shelter provision for schoolchildren standing at the Connell Street location during inclement weather, then this has been an ask that has been a long time coming.

With planning approval now granted Translink inform me that the installation will now take place during the summer period and outside of the academic year to minimise any disruption for the children or the service buses that stop at that location. From a safety perspective this is to be welcomed.

The one existing shelter at the Connell Street location did not accommodate the numbers of children waiting to be collected and therefore additional provision was a must particularly when an overspill of children were being exposed during cold and damp weather.

Given the large-scale back log of new bus shelters across Northern Ireland, it is welcome that Limavady High School is set to have improved provision ahead of the new academic year.’
