🛠️🏴 Steel Spirit takes the stage—Corby’s Town of Culture bid has been submitted! 🛠️🏴
They promised us Wonderworld, a dream that left a generation asking "Wonder-when?" Well, Corby doesn't wait for dreams to be handed to us—we forge them ourselves.
We’ve survived the closures, we’ve built the Cube and welcomed new generations. Today, we are officially announcing our bid for UK Town of Culture 2028!

· Our heritage isn’t just history; it’s the grit and hard work that defines every artist, musician, and creator in this town.
· From the established Highland Gathering to the new Family Arts Festival, our roots, creativity and diversity make us a unique town in the UK
· No More "Wonder-when": We aren't waiting for a theme park to make us special. We are the attraction. Our community is the "Wonderworld" they tried to build back in the 80s.
They promised us a fantasy, but we built a reality. Now, it’s time to show the country the real magic of Corby.
The UK Town of Culture is a government led competition. The winning town will be awarded £3 million to deliver a cultural programme in 2028. Additionally, the two finalists from their category will receive £250,000.00 each to deliver their elements of their bid. I’m Chris Emmanuel. I’m a Liberal Democrat from Rothwell. You might ask why I’m spending my Sunday delivering flyers for the Town Council election in Corby. Having walked 7km today, at times I was asking myself the same question!

The answer is simple though. I believe in doing what’s right. It’s right to have a Town Council occupied by representatives of the community. It’s right to have people who have a vested interest deliver betterment for their friends and neighbours. That’s why it’s right to have Tracy Bruce represent Beanfield & Kingswood in Corby.

Today I’ve seen the pride that people have in their community. I’ve met some genuinely lovely people. I’ve seen some amazing gardens (my favourite was Aw Wee Hame. I love the ‘happy place’ signs!). Most importantly, I’ve seen a community of people who just want to get along and enjoy their lives.

Voting for Tracy will not just help maintain that community. It’ll accentuate it. The family fun days will bring people together. The tools and skills library will help even more people’s gardens flourish. It’ll certainly make Corby in Bloom one of the most competitive events of the year!

Politics is definitely not all about Westminster. It’s about here. It’s about you. It’s about your community.

We're happy to announce Tracy BRUCE as our local candidate for Kingswood & Beanfield. A local champion who has lived in the area for over 37 years.

She wants to see Corby Bloom through initiatives to encourage gardening and support that with tool and skills library.

As well as taking pride in , Tracy is a proud family person and wants to promote fun days at local community centres for families
