This would be a fantastic service for Earlsdon residents and support it fully.
🩸 Bringing Blood Tests to Earlsdon Pharmacy ?
Over the past few months, Earlsdon 2.0 has been working with Earlsdon Pharmacy to explore whether routine blood tests could be offered locally on Earlsdon Street.
The idea is simple. Make blood tests easier to access for local residents.
Many people are being asked to have routine blood tests, but appointments can involve travelling outside Earlsdon, limited clinic hours, long waits, or challenges around work, caring responsibilities, and mobility. When access is difficult, people often put tests off. Some miss them altogether.
We believe a local service could improve access, encourage earlier testing, and help reduce pressure elsewhere in the NHS.
Our idea is straightforward. Start with a small pilot and if it works, we will push for it to become a permanent local service that residents can rely on. If it does not, we learn from it and move on.
Before taking this further, we are reaching out to local stakeholders, including GP practices, healthcare providers, councillors, and community representatives, to gather views and make sure everyone is on the same page.
At the same time, we are developing a community petition and supporting campaign materials to demonstrate local demand and community support.
This is not about criticising the NHS. It is about working constructively with the NHS to explore a practical solution that could benefit local people and support an already stretched healthcare system.
What do you think? Would you use a blood testing service at Earlsdon Pharmacy?
