We called for an immediate public consultation to BAN BALACLAVAS & FACE COVERINGS for e-bike riders in the city centre - and to extend it city-wide. 🛑

Update for Local Residents - Coventry Hill Hotel 🏨

Following recent concerns shared on Facebook regarding the Coventry Hill Hotel, I had a council officer visit the site at lunchtime today to speak directly with management and staff.

Hotel staff have re-confirmed that the property is not being used by the Home Office or its contractors for asylum accommodation.

Only a portion of the hotel is currently operational while several floors and the bar area undergo major refurbishment. The workers observed around the site and visiting local shops are trade contractors hired specifically for these ongoing works.

When the Home Office previously used this site, the council fought against it because it stripped our city of a valuable commercial asset and local business. Seeing private investment return to restore this hotel is a positive step forward for our local area.

Our Commitment
Should any proposal ever emerge to return this site to asylum housing, we will object in the strongest possible terms. The Coventry Hill Hotel is entirely unsuitable for that purpose due to its remote location and lack of access to key local services.

We will continue to monitor the site closely. If you have any further concerns or hear fresh rumors, please reach out to me directly and we will investigate immediately.

Hollyfast Lane – another fly-tip this morning

I’ve just reported the latest dump of containers on Hollyfast Lane.
This keeps happening and residents are rightly fed up.

Taiwo Owatemi MP and Cllr John McNicholas promised CCTV in a Facebook video, yet none has been installed. It feels like the issue has been forgotten.

Bablake ward councillors are here and still battling to get resident CCTV in place.
