Congratulations to the Wolston, Brandon and Bretford Joint Burial Committee on the installation of the new Letters to Lost Loved Ones post-box in the graveyard.
It was wonderful to see Coventry and Warwickshire Radio ( https://www.facebook.com/bbccwr ) there this morning interviewing those most closely involved with the project and helping to share its story with the wider community.
The graveyard is looking absolutely beautiful at the moment, providing a peaceful and reflective space for visitors, and a special thank you must go to local handyman Mark Cooper for all of his hard work in maintaining the grounds and keeping everything looking so well cared for.
Pictured are Councillor Laurie Wright (Wolston Parish Council), Councillor Andrew Kirby (Brandon & Bretford Parish Council), and Lorraine Knowles, Clerk to the Joint Burial Committee.
We would also like to apologise for an omission in the original post. The idea for the Letters to Lost Loved Ones post-box was first suggested by a resident of the village, and it is only right that this inspiration is acknowledged and recognised. Community ideas such as this help make our local area a more caring and compassionate place, and we are grateful that the suggestion was brought forward.
The post-box provides a thoughtful way for people to express feelings, memories, messages and thoughts to those they have lost. Whether you wish to share a memory, a thank you, or simply a few words from the heart, it offers a quiet opportunity for reflection and remembrance.
If you have the chance, please take a little time to visit and see it for yourself. Should you wish to leave a letter, we kindly ask that this is done in a respectful and considerate manner, remembering that the graveyard is a special place of peace, remembrance and dignity for many families.
A lovely addition to a very special place at the heart of our community.Congratulations to the Wolston, Brandon and Bretford Joint Burial Committee on the installation of the new Letters to Loved Ones post box in the churchyard graveyard.
