Appeal for help...
Like many organisations, the COVID-19 pandemic has hit us hard meaning that we have not been able to hold any formal fund-raising events in the village for over a year.
We find ourselves in a tricky position with ongoing maintenance costs and also a residual debt that was inherited from previous committees that was originally taken out to fund the play equipment that is currently in use on the playing field. These loans are from private individuals who have kindly waived some of the loan, but they now need repaying the outstanding amount before we can start fund-raising for other things.
We have also approached the Youth Club Management Committee and requested a donation from their surplus funds after the sale of the old youth club building. However, they are unfortunately unable to make a donation at this time.
This is why we are appealing to you, the village residents, to help. If you could spare anything from a few pence to a few pounds, it would be gratefully appreciated.
We have set up a PayPal account so you can make credit or debit card donations online using the email address [email protected] (please use the friends and family option so there are no fees charged).
Alternatively, you can post a cheque (payable to the Lapford Playing Field Trust) through the letterbox at Ebenezer Cottage (located behind the Ark) in Lapford or at the Ark where (when lockdown restrictions ease) cash donations can also be made.
Hopefully it won’t be too much longer before we can hold some fun fund-raising events again, until then, stay safe and enjoy the playing field.
Thanks in advance!
