Today marks the first anniversary of the tragic loss of Elianne Adam, an angel taken from us far too soon. As the rain falls down in central Croydon, at the unveiling of Elianne Adam mural it mirrors the tears we have shed and the pain felt by countless families affected by knife crime.

Elianne's name holds profound meaning to her beloved mother Dorcas Andam.

E for Elated, the joy they felt when they learned they were having a daughter.

L for the Laughter and Love she brought into their lives.

I for the way she could Ignite any room with her vibrant spirit.

A for Adorable, the essence of who she was.

N for Never allowing Negativity to dampen her light.

N for Never Afraid, facing life with courage.

E for Everlasting Rest with her Saviour.

As we remember Elianne, we also grieve for all young lives lost to senseless knife crime. Our collective pain—mothers, fathers, brothers, aunts, uncles, families, and communities—calls out for change. We cannot allow this cycle of violence to continue.

Let us unite in our demand for action. We urge governments, politicians, police forces, and every member of our communities to take a stand against this epidemic. Together, we can turn our grief into a force for change, ensuring a safer world for our children.

Let Elianne's legacy inspire us to create a brighter future, where love triumphs over violence. Together, we can make a difference.

With hope and determination.

Ban Zombie Knives

Government, local authorities, and youth unite to demand immediate action against the menace of zombie knives.

In a powerful display of solidarity, bereaved families, community leaders, teachers, and politicians have come together to address the urgent issue of knife crime affecting the youth. The event held at Selhurst Park served as a platform for the grieving parents of Croydon’s young victims to voice their concerns and demand swift action from national and local government.

Among the heartfelt pleas, families, including that of Elianne Andam, emphasized the need to expedite the ban on zombie knives, machetes, and swords. These weapons have been identified by medical professionals as inflicting severe trauma on victims, amplifying the devastating impact of knife crime. The teachers and parents also stressed the importance of early intervention strategies to tackle this deeply rooted issue that continues to plague the borough.

During the gathering, which saw the participation of eight families who have tragically lost their children to knife crime, the history of Croydon’s knife crime and youth violence was extensively discussed. It became evident that the problem is not only pressing but also multifaceted, requiring a comprehensive approach.

Resounding agreement resonated among the attendees regarding the urgent need to ban zombie knives, machetes, and swords. Theresa Amiable Lina, a grieving parent, passionately questioned the very purpose of these weapons, raising the crucial point that they serve no purpose other than to cause harm.

This united call for action from government, local authorities, and the youth community highlights the gravity of the situation and the determination to create a safer environment for all. The time for immediate and decisive action against the proliferation of zombie knives is now.
