Join us for an unforgettable evening as our talented pupils take to the stage in the spectacular musical Dreamgirls! 🌟

Featuring powerful vocals, dazzling choreography, and iconic songs, this award-winning production tells the inspiring story of a female singing group’s rise to stardom through the glamorous and competitive world of the music industry.

🌟 WHAT AN INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE! 🌟

On Friday 5 June, our Elite Dance troupe had the amazing opportunity to perform at The Derby Festival 2026 – Ladies Day at Epsom Downs Racecourse. 🏇✨

Our dancers proudly showcased their talent on such a prestigious stage, performing in front of a fantastic audience and representing Elite Dance with confidence, energy, and professionalism.

This was a truly memorable experience for all involved and provided wonderful exposure for our troupe. We are incredibly proud of every dancer for their hard work, dedication, and commitment leading up to this special event.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported us and helped make this opportunity possible. We loved every moment and are excited for what’s next! 💙💃

⚽🏆 Congratulations to our Year 8 team who have earned their place in the Croydon Cup Final!

The team showed incredible determination and resilience on their journey to the final. After an amazing comeback from 3-0 down to win their quarter-final, they followed it up with another outstanding performance in the semi-final against Harris Crystal Palace.

Trailing 1-0, the boys battled back to level the game before securing a 2-1 victory against in extra time and booking their place in this year’s final.

We are incredibly proud of their commitment, teamwork, and never-give-up attitude. 👏

🌍✨ Celebrating Culture at Shirley High School ✨🌍

On Friday 22 May 2026, Shirley High School proudly celebrated the many different ethnicities and cultures within our school community through a Cultural M***i Day.

Both pupils and staff wore clothing that represented their culture and heritage, creating a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere across the school. ❤️

The event reflected our vision, values and mission by encouraging our pupils to become successful, respectful and well-rounded global citizens.

It was wonderful to see our community come together to appreciate and celebrate diversity while also raising money for our 4 house charities. 🎉

On Friday 17 April 2026, local MP Natasha Irons visited Shirley High School to hear directly from young people about their experiences growing up in Croydon.

She sat down with a group of Year 10 and 11 pupils for an open and honest conversation, discussing the challenges and opportunities shaping their lives-from education and safety to future aspirations.

It was a valuable chance for pupils to share their perspectives and have their voices heard by someone representing them at a national level.

A huge thank you to our visiting NHS speakers last week👩🏽‍⚕️👨🏼‍⚕️

Our 6th Formers were introduced to 350 careers across the health service — many completely new to us!

— From clinical roles to digital, engineering, research, new therapies and so much more!

A valuable afternoon that helped our 6th formers to network, broaden their horizons and spark new ideas for their future. ✨

Down 3-0 with just 8 minutes on the clock, most would’ve called it. But...
⚽️ Zedekiah starts the charge with a clinical penalty.
⚽️ Hayden turns on the edge of the box to fire home a second.
⚽️ Last kick of the game: Dennie sends a pinpoint long ball to Hayden, who rounds the keeper to force extra time! 3-3.
Elijah blasted us into the lead with a rocket 🚀,
Oasis fought back to 4-4. 
With 3 minutes left, Elijah channeled his inner Saka, whipping in a corner that was flicked on for Aakil to bury a diving header at the back post! 🦅
Final score: 5-4. Semi-finals, here we come!
