๐ ACT Success Story๐
"Thank you for believing in me and investing in my future. Your kindness and
generosity will always be remembered, and I pray that God will continue to
bless your organisation and its work."
Elizabeth was born in Zambia and tragically lost her parents at a very young age from HIV/Aids. She was living with her grandmother but got taken away as her grandmother was making her dance in drinking places for money. Her new guardian earnt a little money selling odds and ends but her income was not sufficient to care for Elizabeth.
She started being sponsored by ACT in 2010, when she was in grade 5. With our financial support, she was able to continue excelling at school and completed a diploma in Mechanical Engineering at Copperbelt University.
In 2022, she was awarded the Martin Phillips Scholarship, a fund to inspire girls from disadvantaged background that ACT is supporting to access STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) and to study these at university degree level. She went on to study ICT at Northrise University and graduated this year.
In a letter she recently sent to ACT, Elizabeth expressed her "deepest gratitude for the generous sponsorship that has supported my education since primary. Your organisation's commitment to empowering students through education has made such an impact on my life... Without your support none of this would have been possible, so I once again
want to say how grateful I am."
The success of our beneficiaries in their endeavors is the highest reward we can receive at ACT, and our fast-growing alumni network is a testament to the positive impact of education and support on people's lives.
