Another busy two months in Broad Green! 💚

Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to across the ward throughout June and July 👇

Last week, alongside Sarah Jones MP we hosted community coffee morning, bringing together Broad Green residents, our local neighbourhood police team, South West London Law Centres and other local organisations.

These coffee mornings are a great opportunity to meet residents, hear directly about the issues affecting our community, and connect people with the advice and support they need.

Some of the key discussions included the petitions and campaigns we’re currently working on, plans to launch a regular Broad Green newsletter this autumn to keep residents up to date, housing concerns particularly on estates where we’ve carried out walkabouts with the Council’s engagement team to help identify issues and push for improvements this has now started with the regular housing surgeries. The ongoing concerns around antisocial behaviour and drug-related offences along London Road and other hotspot areas across Broad Green.

We’re pleased to see Your Local Guardian highlighting the concerns we’ve raised about dangerous asbestos dumping in Broad Green.

We’ve been working closely with the Rosedene Residents’ Association to tackle the ongoing fly-tipping affecting the area and will continue pushing for action to keep our community safe.

Great to see Kiwanis Croydon & Coulsdon hosting this “doll making” session at the children’s centre along Canterbury Road tomorrow afternoon - pop along! 😊

This morning we held our regular Saturday morning Councillor surgery - and today we were joined additionally by our local Metropolitan Police Service Broad Green police team.

We wanted to say a big thanks to all of those who popped along to see us this morning - lots of feedback and issues raised, from issues in housing blocks to anti-social behaviour to overgrown trees.

Most importantly, lots of stuff for us to get to work on trying to fix!
