Labour is stopping council and social housing from being sold off by protecting newly built homes for 35 years and restricting Right to Buy to long-term residents with strong local ties.

We desperately need more council housing - with 350,000 people on waiting lists in London we can’t have housing stock being sold off and not replaced, with many ending up as private rental properties down the line.

With Labour’s £39bn social and affordable housing plan, and council housebuilding already at its highest level in nearly 40 years - we will get the homes we need.
