Gwent Police Community Support Officers PCSO 551 and PCSO 525 have been working alongside partner agency United Welsh in the Bryn Aber area to address ongoing concerns regarding antisocial behaviour, fly tipping and parking issues.

By carrying out joint partnership meetings, joint high visible patrols in and around the area as well as engaging with local community groups and listening to residents' concerns, we are committed to making our neighbourhoods cleaner and safer places to live.

Antisocial behaviour and fly tipping can have a significant impact on communities and we encourage residents to report incidents so that appropriate action can be taken against those responsible.

Thank you to United Welsh for their continued support and working with us and to the local community and residents for continuing to engage with us and report their concerns.

🚓 Police Surgery at Ystrad Mynach Hospital 👮

Local held a police surgery at Ystrad Mynach Hospital, giving the community the chance to raise concerns, ask questions, and get advice on community safety. These drop‑in sessions help keep officers visible, accessible, and connected with the public.

During the session, and discussed a range of neighbourhood issues, offer crime prevention advice and listen to anything anyone wanted to share. — including recent reports of ASB within the hospital. Staff and visitors have raised concerns about disruptive behaviour in and around the site. Officers emphasised that they are maintaining a visible presence to deter this behaviour and are working closely with hospital to support a safer environment for everyone.

If you couldn’t make it, don’t worry — more surgeries are scheduled in Ystrad Mynach Hospital.

🚨 Neighbourhood Alert – Ystrad Mynach 🚨

We have seen a recent increase in Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) calls across the Ystrad Mynach area over the past few weeks 📈. Reports highlight groups of youths causing disturbances in the early hours of the morning 🌙🔊.

🏕️ It has also come to our attention that some of these youths may be staying out overnight locally, potentially camping, which is contributing to the issues being reported.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 We would like to remind all parents and carers of their responsibilities to know where their children are, especially overnight, and to ensure they are not placing themselves or others at risk.

⚠️ ASB can have a significant impact on our communities, and we ask for your support in addressing this by speaking with your children about their behaviour and the consequences of their actions.
