🏉💙 BRIDGING THE GAP – THAT’S A WRAP! 💙🏉
Today marked the final Bridging the Gap session, and what a way to finish! 🙌
Over the course of the project, we’ve seen young people come together, try something new, make new friends, build confidence and, most importantly, have plenty of fun along the way.
One of the most encouraging outcomes has been a decrease in calls relating to anti-social behaviour (ASB) in the area since the initiative began. While there are a number of factors that can influence ASB, it’s fantastic to see the positive engagement and relationships built through this project contributing to the wider community. 👏
Perhaps most importantly, bridges have been built between the Police and local young people. The project has created opportunities for positive conversations, mutual understanding and relationships to develop in an informal environment — away from the usual reasons Police and young people may come into contact. 🤝💙
A massive thank you to every young person who came along and got involved. You’ve been brilliant and have made the project what it is. 💙
🏉 Huge thanks to the fantastic Dragons RFC coaches for delivering the Give Rugby a Try sessions throughout the project. There have been some cracking skills, some serious competition… and more than a few tackles that probably needed their own investigation! 😂
🧠 A big thank you to Caerphilly Youth Service for the additional educational inputs.
⛪ A special thank you to Newbridge Tabernacle Church for allowing us to use their facilities and providing a welcoming space for the young people to come together, enjoy refreshments and take part in additional activities.

16 weeks. Plenty of laughs. Plenty of sport. Loads of new experiences. Stronger relationships. One brilliant community project. 💙
Bridging the Gap might be finished… but the connections we’ve made will hopefully continue. 🤝
