Good evening everyone
TfL are starting work to renew and strengthen the ageing Gallows Corner Flyover, Romford. They will be replacing the structure, which will allow for vehicle speed and weight restrictions to be removed, improving journey times.
From Monday 10 March until June there will be a series of lane closures on the A127 Southend Arterial Road and A12 Eastern Avenue to / from Gallows Corner roundabout. These will reduce road widths from two lanes down to one. All routes - including the flyover - will remain open, except for some overnight closures.
If you travel to work using this route, there will be traffic queues and delays, so do plan your journey and try to use alternative routes where possible.
There are no planned changes to bus routes or stops in the area, but journeys may take longer as traffic delays are expected.
You can find more information here.
Thank you.

🚦 Renwick Road Junction Update 🚦

Dear Thames View residents,

We understand your frustration regarding the delay in lifting the restrictions at Renwick Road Junction.

After a long legal process, we have finally received confirmation from the CEO of LBBD that the revised solution has been approved and ready to progress.

✅ Final safety approvals have been signed off by the Met Police.
✅ The scheme meets all necessary legal and traffic regulations.
✅ A full briefing note outlining the plan will be shared soon. Probably by the end of next week.

A huge thanks to Cllr Cameron Geddes for his continued support in ensuring this much-needed change for our residents. We appreciate your patience, and we will keep you updated on the next steps.

Best regards,
Cllr Sabbir Zamee & Cllr Fatuma Nanule
Thames View Ward Councillors

Update on Meeting with MET Police Regarding Safety Concerns in Thames View Ward:

Dear Residents of Thames View Ward,

I hope this message finds you well.

Today, on the 25th of April at 10:30 AM, a meeting was held with the MET Police Senior Traffic Officer, the Leader of the Council Cllr Daren Rodwell, Cabinet Member Cllr Cameron Geddes, Ward Cllr Fatuma Nalule, myself Cllr Sabbir Zamee, along with Nick Davis and Rebecca Johnson of LBBD.

During the meeting, the MET Police raised some safety concerns within our community, and we had a fruitful discussion on how to mitigate these concerns effectively. We collectively addressed the impact these safety issues have on our residents and emphasized the frustrations experienced by many within our community.

We are hopeful that the actions discussed during the meeting will lead to positive outcomes and improvements in the safety of our neighborhood. We encourage you to watch the video where the Leader of the Council and senior Cabinet member provide updates about the situation.

Your safety and well-being remain our top priority, and we will continue to work tirelessly to address any challenges and concerns affecting our community.

Thank you for your attention, and please stay tuned for further updates.

Best regards,

Cllr Sabbir Zamee
Thames View Ward Councillor

Today, I had the pleasure of accompanying Councillor Kashif Haroon, Cabinet Member for Public Realm & Climate Change, on a visit to Thames View Ward. Together, we inspected the cleanliness conditions of the estate, walking through various roads and checking different blocks of the Thames View Estate.

I am pleased to report that Councillor Haroon expressed his full support for maintaining the cleanliness of our estate during the visit.

A heartfelt thank you to Councillor Kashif Haroon for taking the time to visit us and for his commitment to our community's well-being.
