1st The Queen's Dragoon Guards 1st The Queen's Dragoon Guards (QDG) is the Cavalry Regiment of Wales and the Border Counties.

Nantyglo 7's – 2026 🏉

A brilliant day of rugby for the 1st The Queen's Dragoon Guards Rugby Team.

Group Stage Results: 🏉 Cheetahs Invitational 17–7 QDG ❌ 🏉 Vikings Rugby 0–24 QDG ✅ 🏉 Mountain Ash 5–28 QDG ✅ 🏉 Crows 10–26 QDG ✅ 🏉 Nantyglo RFC 10–31 QDG ✅ 🏉 Pontypool United – (withdraw from tournament ) ✅

After a strong run through the tournament, we reached the Dusty Davies Cup Final, where we narrowly lost 21–19 to a very good Cheetahs Invitational side.

A huge thank you to Nantyglo RFC for hosting a fantastic tournament and to all the teams for making it a great day of rugby.

Proud of the effort, commitment and teamwork shown by every Dragoon who put on the QDG shirt today.

Also, a big thank you to the RCA members who showed up to give your support today!

Trimsaran RFC have cancelled the up and coming match against the rugby team.

The team's admin staff have not sat around in sorrow though! They've managed to get a last minute entry in to a 7's tournement this Saturday.

The rugby teams pre-season friendly against Wrexham RFC ended in a victory for our Dragoons.

A hard fought battle in the first half seen the tram honing their game plan against the hard fought Wrexham side. In the end the endurance and perseverance our Dragoons hold seen them begin to put some serious numbers on the scoreboard.

Dragoons have made they're way to Wrexham in preparation for tomorrow's matches with Wrexham RFC.

The team were lucky enough to have a Lt. Col Tim Jones deliver the new Welsh Cavalry kits for them to wear.
