Wiltshire Firearms Licensing Wiltshire Police Fi****ms Licensing. We will aim to provide a service which is nationally consistent.

The Wiltshire Police Fi****ms and Explosives Licensing Unit are based at Devizes and are responsible for managing all aspects of the licensing of fi****ms and explosives including the issue of certificates, gun clubs, fi****ms dealers and permits within the Wiltshire Police area. We aim to continue to provide an excellent service in the management of Fi****ms and Explosive Licensing for residents

and visitors to Wiltshire. This will be achieved by:
• Aligning our Department with the Authorised Professional Practice (APP) document and the Home Office Guide on Fi****ms Licensing Law
• Implementing nationally agreed guidance issued from the National Policing Lead. This page should not be used to report an offence or to pass sensitive information to the police. Five models of Side or Top Venting Blank Firers (TVBFs) manufactured by Bruni are now illegal to own. From 2 – 27 February, there is a TVBF amnesty taking place across England and Wales.

If you own one of the five models, hand it in at Trowbridge, Swindon, Melksham, Salisbury or Chippenham police enquiry office before 27 February 2026 to avoid prosecution. This can be done anonymously.

Do you have an old gun or any ammunition that’s been lying around for years at home?
Now is the time to safely dispose of it.

Wiltshire Police has joined other forces across the country in appealing for people to hand in unwanted guns with a two week surrender of fi****ms and ammunition. The surrender started on 12 May 2022 and runs through to 29 May.
During that period, those surrendering fi****ms can remain anonymous and will not face prosecution for the illegal possession at the point of surrender.
