It was a fantastic day at the first Age Without Limits, hosted at The Veterans Hub Community Cafe in Portland. It was an uplifting occasion, bringing together organisations, volunteers, and community members with a shared mission ‘to challenge the stigma around aging and tackle social isolation’.

Despite a breezy start, the weather largely stayed on our side and certainly didn’t dampen spirits. And certainly not with the ‘naafi’ offering hot drinks to all!

In fact, nothing could stop our dedicated knitters, who gathered, needles in hand, continuing their craft with admirable determination and a lot of laughter. They even went out for a ride on the visiting trike; not a stitch dropped! Thank you Cycling Without Age Weymouth

Our team will be at an event hosted by the The Veterans Hub Weymouth & Portland CIC on 10 June we are co-hosting an Age Without Limits event to tackle ageism and the negative effects that come with it!

Age Without Limits Day is an annual day for us all to come together and take action to end ageism - as individuals, with friends and family, in our communities and in our workplaces.

The Veteran's Hub will be offering a range of activities for locals. From board games to learning about gardens, come and join the fun from 11am.

At 12 there will also be a free BBQ for everyone to enjoy, as well as live music!

Our dedicated team in Dorset provides vital support through advice and drop-in sessions.

Last year, we assisted over 2,300 individuals facing various challenges, such as reintegrating after hospital stays or combating social isolation.
With a focus on kindness and compassion, we strive to make a positive impact in our community. 🤝💙

Molly has been with our team for a few months, and finds her role rewarding!

💬 When you call Dorset First Point, you’re speaking to a real person whose job is to listen, not rush you or judge your situation. Our First Point Dorset team are made up of dedicated and caring individuals. They do it because they want to help their community and see people thrive. Rebecca leads a fantastic team with local knowledge who can help with a variety of things. From homelessness to social isolation, if you need to speak to someone and live in Dorset, contact us.

💬 I love my job. I love doing what we do. I’m now at service manager level, and I still do it because I want to make a difference to the people we work with. The people we work with are Dorset residents, so our neighbours, our friends.

I guess I’ve had some lived experience, which resonates for me. When I joined the trust as a front-line worker, I knew I’d found the place I wanted to work. It’s to make that difference and I know we still do.
I’m incredibly proud of everyone in the team!💬 ❤️
