Leeds Local Plan Update

The second scoping consultation for the Leeds Local Plan is now live.
The consultation runs until Wednesday, 5th August and is asking
two questions.

🌿✨ Grass Cutting Update! ✨🌿

We just wanted to let you know about some of the work our grass-cutting contractors, DSA Gardening, have been carrying out around the village over the last week. 👏🌱

They've been busy tidying up:
🌼 The Crossroads
🏡 The Scout Hut area
🚶 Several footpaths throughout the village

🚔 POLICE UPDATE – Incident on Monday 15th June 🚔

Following the incident on Monday, 15th June in the village, we have received the following update from the police today:

✅ Three people were arrested – two males and one female.

🔹 The female remains subject to ongoing enquiries and has been released on bail with conditions.

🔹 One male has been remanded in custody and is awaiting his next court hearing.

🔹 The second male has been sentenced to 52 weeks' imprisonment.

🏠 The police are also working closely with partner agencies to pursue tenancy enforcement action where appropriate.

📢 Parish Council Meeting Update 📢

We just wanted to give our community an update from last night's Parish Council meeting.

Thank you to the members of the community who came along.

🏘️ A special thank you to Mr Ian MacKay from Leeds City Council's Local Plan Team, who attended to provide an update on the Leeds Local Plan and answer questions.

📋 Leeds Local Plan Update
Ian advised that a Scoping Consultation is scheduled to take place at the end of June (date to be confirmed). The consultation will be available online, and as soon as we receive further details, we will share them with the community.

We will be discussing the scoping consultation at our July meeting, so please come along if you are free, it would be wonderful to see you.

🏡 Community Hub Update
We are arranging some maintenance work at the Community Hub and have approved the installation of an outside tap.

💷 Financial Accounts Approved
The Parish Council approved its 2025/26 Financial Accounts. Please visit our website, where the reports will be available and updated for public viewing.

🚩 Flags
Councillors approved this year's flag order.

🌱 Grass Cutting
We are aware of ongoing issues regarding grass cutting by Leeds City Council. Cllr Carol Edwards is continuing to engage with Leeds City Council regularly to ensure the work is completed as soon as possible.

🚜 You will also see our Parish Council grass-cutting contractors out and about in the village this week carrying out their scheduled work. If you see them, please do say hello, they are a friendly bunch. 😊

🤝 It was great to welcome Ward Councillors Grayshon and Graves to the meeting, and also a couple of staff members from Mark Sewards office.
