Notification from Cadent

Gas Works

Work will take place on Green Lane and Stonelow Road to upgrade 1571m of gas pipework. With a selection of 2" up to 8" steel, ductile and iron gas pipework first installed in 1957. Over the years, there have been multiple repairs on these gas mains, resulting in extensive traffic management measures each time. These frequent repairs have significantly disrupted the highway and community. While this project will temporarily affect the area, it is designed to eliminate the need for recurrent repairs, thereby reducing long-term traffic congestion and disruption. Ultimately, this proactive approach will enhance the reliability of our gas network and ensure that we can keep our customers safe and warm.

A rolling road closure which will be in place on Green Lane from Monday 20th April until 26th May, starting from outside 72a working up to 123 Green Lane - for 5 weeks.

Work will then also commence on Stonelow Road from 18th May until 19th June. Multi Way Temporary traffic light system in place, starting outside The Holy Spirt Catholic Church up to 95 Stonelow Road - for 4 weeks.
