What a lovely surprise visit!

Dr Basu, High Sheriff of the County Palatine of Durham dropped into TINeke’s dance training session last night to present an award in recognition of TIN Arts’ inspirational work transforming lives and creating inclusive opportunities through high-quality dance and the performing arts. Knowing that our work with young people and inclusive communities is seen and valued at the highest civic level provides our team with a fantastic boost of encouragement.

We're delighted to announce we officially collected the keys to our future home, the TIN Dance House.

After lots of hard work behind the scenes, we’re so excited to begin transforming the space into a creative home for dance, performance and community here in County Durham.

We aim to open our doors for activity in September 2026 ✨

As part of TIN Arts’ work developing dance projects for young audiences, including PULSE through Into the Light, Martin and Tess are visiting the BIBU Festival in Helsingborg, Sweden.

BIBU brings together artists, makers, producers and programmers from across the world for an international exchange focused on high quality performing arts work for children and young people.

It’s a privilege to be part of such an inspiring gathering, sharing learning from PULSE while hearing how others across the sector are creating meaningful access to performance for young audiences.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be speaking with the young people who attend our BOUNCE classes to hear how they feel about being part of TIN Arts and about our upcoming move to our new home in Spennymoor. 💛

To start things off, Megan and Lily share their journeys with TIN, reflecting on what being part of TIN Arts has meant to them and what the future might hold, both with TIN and beyond.
