Meet at 6:00pm at Paterson's Land, University of Edinburgh for a Professional Registration workshop led by IMechE’s Senior Membership Development Manager, Sandra Mulligan. This session will demystify the process of achieving EngTech, IEng or CEng status, covering the Academic and UK SPEC 4 competence requirements alongside practical tips on building your evidence, writing a strong application, and preparing for the Professional Review Interview. You will also hear about CPD expectations, how to make the most of your membership, and have the chance to ask questions.

The Edinburgh IMechE Young Members Panel and the Energy Institute Young Members Panel (Southern Scotland) came together for a fantastic joint networking event on the 30th April!

Two brilliant speakers Martin Douglas from Oceaneering and Mike Jones from Sweco delivered talks spanning the energy sector and mechanical engineering, sparking some really engaging conversations throughout the night. It was fantastic to see so many young engineers in one room, connecting, sharing ideas and building community who genuinely cares about the progress within the sector and mechanical engineering discipline.

It marks the first professional event in the YMP 2026 calendar, supporting collaboration between institutions in the engineering community, and building links within our local network to benefit engieers at every stage of their career.

A huge thank you to Nadara for hosting, to both speakers for their time, and to everyone who came along!!

The Edinburgh IMechE Young Members Panel js co hosting a networking session with the Energy Institute YMP on Thursday 30th April.

Doors open at 6pm at the Nadara Office at 12 Blenheim Place. Two speakers are set to give talks on the energy sector and mechanical engineering, with the opportunity to network towards the end of the night. Further details to follow.

After a successful AGM in November, we're happy to announce the Young Member's Panel first monthly social.
