Dearest Scotland invites you to write to the future of Scotland in 2014, the year we decide, as a nation, our future direction. Please support the publishing of a book of Dearest Scotland letters on our Kickstarter crowdfunding platform... www.kck.st/1AycKQt - Here's you'll have the chance to back us and receive great rewards in return. As an apolitical initiative, focused on crowd sourcing a futu
re vision for Scotland by the public for a common good, ultimately, we aim to give a platform to citizens’ voices from all over Scotland. We’re aspiring to collect letters from each of Scotland’s regions, and farther afield from Scots who live abroad. By the end of 2014, we will be delivering an archive of future visions to the Scottish Government and hosting an exhibition at Holyrood at the start of the new year as well as releasing our first book in early 2015. You can download a letter template from our website and send it back to us by email or post. Alternatively, you can pick up a letter pack from our post boxes located around Scotland, or attend a letter writing workshop. And for lovers of digital, you can directly input your vision on our online letter submission application. WHAT SHOULD A LETTER INCLUDE? You can write as much or as little as you want. You can pull ideas from experience or articulate a future vision. It might be poetic, romantic, harsh, critical or angstful. You can write in the first, second or third person. It can be fictional or factual. We leave it down to you, all we ask is that you start with Dearest Scotland...
OUR ASPIRATIONS? First, we want letters. Lots of them. As we go we will create a digital archive online. Then we plan to publish a book of letters and commission artistic pieces using the letter content. There is information on our website and we will also be holding a series of summer events during 2014, so if you’re interested in hearing more, or in becoming an ambassador for the project, come along to one of our events and let’s write to the future...
