The Wee Hours Edinburgh Founded 2024 to support Edinburgh's homeless community. Making the wee hours a little warmer for those sleeping rough.

Our team provides tents, sleeping bags, blankets, warm clothes, and essentials from our van in the city centre on Friday nights.

How it started........how its finishing ๐Ÿซฃ! Good job Wee Gaz is at the ready....but its gonna be a soggy one!! Why are we going out when its pouring?? Because our one hour of uncomfortableness can make such a big difference to those needing warm, dry clothes, thise who's sleeping bags are soaking and going mouldy and those without any shelter and in need of a tent. That's why we do what we do. A small amount of discomfort is nothing to help make a difference. You know where we are (under Wee Gaz!) See you on the other side! Xx

October is here โ€” and colder nights are coming.

For many of us, that means grabbing a warmer coat, heading home earlier, or putting the heating on.

But for people experiencing homelessness in Edinburgh, colder nights can mean something much harder โ€” less warmth, less comfort, and basic needs that cannot wait.

That is why practical support matters now more than ever.

A pair of socks, a warm layer, toiletries, water, or a small donation can help us keep essentials moving when the temperature drops.

We know people want to help but sometimes do not know where to start. Start simple. Choose one useful action today.

This morning at 7am I discovered 2 things: 1) random tent poles block handbrakes ๐Ÿ˜ฒ and 2) boxes of Cocopops (other cereals are available!) launch like confetti if you corner too fast ๐Ÿซฃ. Wee B smells like chocolate (could be worse) and the scones made it intact, so really not too bad a start to the morning! Good Morning All from The Wee Hours Wee Breakfast Service! Xx

Today Wee B took Bruce the Corgie to visit the beautiful Elspeth Whyte and our friends at Oak Tree Vet Centre. Not only was Bruce very happy with the huge bags of dog food they donated, but they even had some cozy coats for our human guests tonight too! Thank you guys! But I know the question everyone wants answered.....do we have any scones?! Yes we do!!! Thank you Tuckey & The Royal Yacht BRITANNIA !! Its gonna be a good night for all!! Your cupboard called. It wants a purpose.

We all have those extra bits at home โ€” unopened toiletries, spare socks, folded towels, or items sitting in the cupboard โ€œjust in case.โ€ The problem is, they often stay there unused while someone else could genuinely need them.

If you have been meaning to help but were not sure where to start, this is a simple place to begin.

Those small everyday items may not seem like much, but they can become practical support, comfort, and dignity for someone experiencing homelessness in Edinburgh.

So before they sit there any longer, let them do something meaningful.

A tent donation can mean shelter from the elements.

Sometimes people want to help but are not sure what kind of support makes a real difference.

For someone facing a night outside in Edinburgh, even basic shelter can offer a little more protection, warmth, and dignity.

Right now, tents are one of the practical items that can help someone get through difficult weather. Around ยฃ20 can help provide shelter support through our supplier access, and donations can be made through our JustGiving or website donation link.

You do not need to solve everything to make an impact. One practical donation can help someone feel a little safer tonight.

A lot of people want to help, but life gets busy. Sometimes we think we need more time, more money, or a bigger gesture before we can make a difference.

But the truth is, kindness often starts with one simple action.

What a week we've had! Started with Bruce the Corgie visiting out friends at Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home to collect our donations, then thanks to the amazing Chris Evans , we've new friends and supporters at PPE Industrial Supplies , who donated us 10, yes 10 boxes of warm jackets, trousers and hoodie. Then down to see our friends at The Royal Yacht BRITANNIA, where Wee B was confined to the car park because of an event (he's wasn't happy with his view ๐Ÿคฃ) and we picked up their amazing scones. Friday night was a wet, but busy one with a donated cake and some group singing (well why not sing in the rain?!). I wonder what this morning will bring? The coffee is made, let's find out!! Good Morning All from The Wee Hours Wee Breakfast Service! Xx
