HAPPY INTERNATIONAL DOG DAY!

πŸ• Discover the legend behind Fermanagh's most mysterious mountains

In Fermanagh, "going to the Dogs" isn't what you think - it's an adventure to two mountains with one of Ireland's greatest legends.

Finn McCool's beloved hunting hounds, Bran and SceolΓ‘n, chased a hare across the hills near Derrygonnelly. A cliff chase. A witch's curse. And two loyal dogs transformed into stone that you can still visit today.

The Dogs (Sliabh DΓ‘ Chon) are part of the stunning Lough Erne Pilgrim Way - a beautiful water route connecting sacred and historic sites across Fermanagh. Whether you're exploring Irish mythology, planning an outdoor adventure, or discovering hidden heritage sites, this is a journey worth taking.

🎬 Watch the reel to hear the full story.

🌊 The Lady of the Lake returns – and she's been watching over Lough Erne for generations!

This July 10-19, Irvinestown comes alive for the 47th The Lady of the Lake Festival - a celebration that's been woven into our community for nearly five decades, thanks to incredible volunteers and local businesses who make it happen every single year.

But there's a deeper story here. The Lady of the Lake folklore comes from the shores of Lough Erne itself - a tale of loss, hope and a spirit that's said to have remained on these waters ever since, watching over those who journey here.

It's a story that connects to the ancient pilgrim routes we're rediscovering through the Lough Erne Pilgrim Way.

This festival is part of that living heritage. From the opening parade to the closing dance, from watersports to White Island ferry trips, every event is a thread in the story of why this place, and these waters, matter so much to us all.

If you live here, visit here, or know someone who should - share this. Help us keep this tradition alive.
