It was announced that Newcastle City Council will now be run by a Liberal Democrat administration, ending a 15 year Labour chokehold.

The Liberal Democrats and Greens reach an agreement to run the local authority.

Another broken manhole reported to Northumbrian Water. A broken sewer lid on Moorsley Bank has been keeping people up at night with constant clattering as vehicles pass over it.

Ford and footbridge, Broadgate Lane, will be closed on Monday 17th August for repairs and painting. Traffic will be diverted via Station Road, Ushaw Moor.
